What is the SYNERGY Network?

The EEA and Norway Grants aim to contribute to a more equal Europe - socially and economically - and to strengthen relations between the beneficiary countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Gender-based and domestic violence is a violation of fundamental rights across Europe. Several programmes under different priority areas of the EEA and Norway Grants address gender-based and domestic violence.

The SYNERGY Network against Gender-based and Domestic Violence brings together governmental and non-governmental stakeholders from all relevant programmes under the EEA and Norway Grants.

The Network aims at making a greater impact of the EEA and Norway Grants on addressing violence against women and domestic violence in Europe. By capturing synergies across programmes and countries, the network will contribute to:

  • Sustainable and effective EEA and Norway Grants programmes
  • Strengthened bi- and multilateral relations
  • National policymaking in line with the standards set by the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence – the Istanbul Convention

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Norway, being the Donor Programme Partner for several countries, coordinates the SYNERGY Network in collaboration with the Programme Operators, Donor Programme Partners and International Partner Organisations, including the Council of Europe.
